Most people tend to wonder too much about love, if it’s there or not. This is surprising because love doesn’t hide itself. If it’s there, you can see it clearly because it speaks loudly even without any words. Anytime you wonder if it is there, it probably isn’t. The scripture paints its picture this way, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices. with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” (1Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV) And I add, Love is sweet when genuine, without ulterior reasons.
So, can you see why it’s rare to find a human being that fully epitomizes love? God is the only being who is love and worthy of your trust. And since we’re talking here about prayer and answers, it’s important to note that trust in God, by the one who prays, is needed to have firm expectation of answers to your prayers. “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance of what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1 NIV) That is, you must surrender to the love of God for you, and yours for him. You must trust him to be God to you because he says he is.
